Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive at Texativa.Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history of medicinal benefits going back thousands of years. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids” that endow the plant with its therapeutic properties.
Often people confuse CBD with THC. They do share the fact that they are both phytocannabinoids, and both have significant therapeutic properties, but the big difference is that CBD does not make a person feel “high” or intoxicated like THC does. That’s because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors in the brain and body.
Many people want the health benefits of cannabis without the high, which is why they turn to CBD.
The fact that CBD is therapeutically potent as well as non-intoxicating makes it an appealing treatment option for those who are seeking new ways to alleviate pain, treat ailments, and naturally support better health and wellness.
Q: What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, more commonly known as “CBD,” is a non-psychoactive chemical compound found in hemp plants. CBD specifically comes from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. It is classified as a phytocannabinoid and has been shown to have significant potential for supporting health and wellness in many ways. *
Some common uses include:
- Pain Relief
- Reduce anxiety and depression
- Promote healthy sleep cycles
- Alleviate cancer related symptoms
- Promote healthy skin/reduce acne
- and more…
Q: Is CBD the same as marijuana?
No, but they are closely related which is why people often confused them. Both are in the same plant family, Cannabaceae, aka cannabis or hemp. The hemp we extract our CBD from is a variety of Cannabis sativa. In other words, it’s closely related to marijuana. However, the two are not quite the same thing.
- Marijuana is produced from cannabis plants with greater than 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the principal psychoactive portion of the plant known for creating a “high.”
- Hemp is produced from a variety of the Cannabis plant species (Cannabis Sativa) that is grown specifically for its high CBD content and low THC content.
Q: Will CBD products make me feel “high?”
No! Our CBD is extracted from the Cannabis Sativa hemp plant. CBD does not make a person feel “high” or intoxicated like THC does. That’s because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors in the brain and body. While some CBD products might contain trace amounts of THC, by Federal law no CBD product can contain more than 0.3% THC, a negligible amount that does not result in mind-altering effects.
Q: Where do you source your CBD ingredients from?

Our pet products are made with the same high-quality CBD we use in all our products and animal lovers swear by CBD for helping with common issues such as joint paint, anxiety, skin irritation and overall wellness. All Texativa CBD products can be stored at room temperature, but we recommend placing them somewhere that they are not exposed to light or heat. If you like to use any of the products chilled, you can store them in your refrigerator. Please do not freeze them, though, as it can have a negative impact on the consistency and efficacy of the product.
Q: What do you use for carrier oil?
Texativa products use hemp seed oil as a carrier oil to aid with the absorption of CBD into the body. Hemp seed oil is considered a superfood because it is packed with essential fatty acids.
