Texas House Bill HB3703 has passed committee unanimously in the Senate. This bill expands medical marijuana coverage in the state of Texas very slightly, but still leaves many uncovered. There is still a glimmer of hope for Texas HB1365, but this may still end up being our only shot.
Additionally, the provisions for independent third party testing and additional research have been removed. These are common sense provisions that must be included. The bill is also still problematic because it does not let doctors determine what conditions should be allowed to try cannabinoid solutions and has an extremely low THC content limitation. Tell your Senator you support a broader bill and expansion of coverage at the link below courtesy of Texas NORML. This may be our last chance this legislative session to shape Texas medical marijuana laws, so we must act now!
